GREENE COUNTY AWARDED $650,000

Press Release

Date: May 21, 2008
From: Greene County Commissioner, Kathy Crouch
Regarding: Official Award of FHWA - HES program funding

Greene County awarded $650,000 in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) funds for the Programmatic Replacement of Regulatory and Warning Signs.

This award is based upon Commissioner Kathy Crouch’s 2006 application to the Purdue Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) for HES funding consideration.

The official letter of award is attached.

Commissioner Crouch states “This special, funded program will allow Greene County to correctly install and maintain regulated road signage. Without this award, Greene County would not have been able to fund this important project to make our public roadways safer.”

The Greene County Board of Commissioners executed the concurrence with INDOT on this joint project, during the May 20, 2008 public Commissioners meeting.
